Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Tractivvity is a telemetry and coaching service for sim racers. This policy covers the website at tractivvity.com, the Tractivvity mobile apps for iOS and Android, and the Tractivvity desktop apps (together, "the Service").

The controller of your personal data is Tractivvity, 1824 Willow Bend Ct, Avon, IN 46123, USA. For anything to do with privacy, email hello@tractivvity.com.

The mobile app privacy notice adds details specific to the apps.

2. What we collect

Your account

Your username and email address, and a password, which we store only as a one-way hash. Optionally, a profile photo, your PlayStation Network username, and your settings — units, profile privacy, coaching language and email preferences.

Your driving data

When you drive with one of our apps running, we record your laps: lap and sector times, the car and track, and the telemetry recorded through the lap — speed, throttle, brake, steering, gear, RPM, tyre and suspension data, and your car's position on the circuit. That position is inside the game. We never collect your real-world location.

During a group race, your app also streams live position and lap data to our servers so other participants can follow the race. That live stream is held only briefly while the race is running.

Things you create

Direct messages, race and group chat, support requests, groups you create or join, and similar content you add to the Service.

Coaching

Your requests to the AI coach, Tractivvity Insights, the help assistant and track guides, and the responses they produce. We keep these records to check the quality and accuracy of the coaching.

Payments

If you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment. We receive and store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your subscription status and dates. We never see or store your full card number.

Connected accounts

If you connect Discord, we store your Discord user ID and username, and the access tokens Discord issues, which we use to confirm your server membership and to run voice coaching in Discord. If you link a partner app, see section 5.

Sign-ins and usage

When you sign in, we record your IP address, your browser or app version, and whether you used the website, the mobile app or the desktop app. We record when you were last active on each and which days you used the Service. Our servers also keep standard request logs.

Errors

When something breaks, an error report is sent to Sentry. Reports can include technical details of the request that failed.

What we don't collect

Your real-world location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or any audio — our apps never record you.

3. How we use it

Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, each use below relies on the legal basis shown.

UseLegal basis

Account emails: verification, password resets, receipts, support repliesPerforming our contract with you
Optional notification emailsYour consent, which you can withdraw in your profile settings
Billing and subscription recordsContract, and our legal obligations
Security, preventing abuse, and fixing errorsOur legitimate interest in keeping the Service safe and working
Improving the Service and the coachingOur legitimate interest in making the Service better
Connecting Discord or a partner appYour consent, which you can withdraw by disconnecting

We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other websites or apps.

4. AI coaching

The AI coach, Tractivvity Insights, the help assistant and track guides are powered by Anthropic's Claude models. When you use them, we send Anthropic what's needed to answer: data and analysis from the relevant laps, your username, and — when you're compared against another lap — that lap's driver username and time. For the help assistant and track guides, we send the question you asked.

Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API is not used to train its models.

5. What other people can see

  • Public laps appear on leaderboards, track pages and your profile. You choose each lap's visibility — public, shared with a group, or private — and you can make your whole profile private.
  • Group members see the laps you share with that group, and results of group races you take part in.
  • Chat in a race or group is visible to its participants. Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation.
  • Discord announcements. If one of your public laps is a new personal best, we may announce it in the Tractivvity Discord server with your username or Discord mention, the car, the track and the times. Private and group-only laps are never announced.
  • Streamer overlay. Anyone with your overlay link can see what the overlay shows. Treat the link like a password.
  • Partner apps. If you choose to link a partner app to your account, it receives your Tractivvity user ID, username and profile link — never your email or password. You can unlink it at any time.

6. Service providers

We use these companies to run the Service. Each processes personal data only to provide its service to us.

7. International transfers

We and our providers are based mainly in the United States, so your data is processed there. When data is transferred from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Brazil or elsewhere, we rely on our providers' transfer safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open.

When you delete your account, it is closed immediately: you are signed out everywhere, and your profile, laps and messages are removed from the Service. We then permanently erase your personal data within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires — such as billing records — and statistics that no longer identify you.

Error reports and server logs are kept by our providers for a limited period and then deleted.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • get a copy of your personal data
  • correct data that's wrong
  • delete your data
  • receive your data in a portable format
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
  • withdraw consent you've given, at any time

You can change most of your details yourself, from your profile settings, and delete your account from the app or the website — here's how. For anything else, email hello@tractivvity.com. We'll respond within 30 days, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

EEA and UK: you can also complain to your local data protection authority. Brazil: your rights under the LGPD include those above, and you can complain to the ANPD. California and other US states: you have the rights to know, delete and correct your data. We do not sell or share personal data as those laws define it.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you are under the age at which you can consent to data processing where you live — up to 16 in parts of the EU — you need a parent or guardian's permission to use it. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.

11. Security

All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you.

12. Cookies and browser storage

We use a small number of first-party cookies that the Service needs to work: one keeps you signed in, and one remembers which game you're viewing. The website also saves display preferences in your browser, such as your theme and which panels are open. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

13. Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
